But you better hurry, the show begins at 7:30 pm.?Riverbend?Education Center in?Gladwyne?is hosting a family camp?out.?This?is a perfect opportunity to first-time campers. Families bring tents and sleeping bags while?Riverbend?handles all the food, fire, and help. Cost is $80 per family, $70 for members.?Downingtown?kicks off their Honey Fest that runs through Sunday, which benefits polycystic kidney disease. This three-day music and arts festival is free for kids under 12, prices for adults vary.?
Saturday, August 20th:
It?s opening day at Nest!?This new developmentally rich play and learning center located in Philadelphia on Locust includes a salon, boutique, lounge, and, of course, music, movement, and art classes. Sneak peaking begins at 10 am. It?s a perfect Saturday to ride over the Ben Franklin:?Collingswood?is hosting their?free?fine arts and crafts festival. This adorable New Jersey town is home to the kid favorite?Pop Shop. The festival includes lots of family-centered entertainment like face painting and art activities through All Fired Up pottery studio. Or?head out to Delaware for the 2nd Annual Horizon Services Riverfront Family Fest?from 11 - 4:00 pm.. At Chase Center on the riverfront families will enjoy monster moon bounces, a back-to-school expo, sports demonstrations, free giveaways and prizes. ?
Linvilla?Orchards continues their pick-your-own activities with this weekend?s Pear and Tomato Festival. Think of it asPEARfect?way to spend your your day.?Wake Up Yoga South hosts a weekend family playgroup in Philly. Relax with other liked-minded parents and their up to four-year-old children for this?free?event. Play begins at 11:45 am and no pre-registration is required. Sunday, August 22nd:
The Tyler Arboretum welcomes?free?admission for J. Bear?s back-to-school party. Hot dogs, chips, and beverages will be provided along with music by?WJBR. The day also includes face painting. In order to receive free admission,?you must have a ticket. The party runs from 12 - 2:00 pm. Interested in local crafts and urban farming??The High Point Cafe at Allen?s Train Station in Mount Airy hosts their Sunday market. This week features a magician for kids. The market runs from 10 - 4 pm. This week's?free?PECO?multicultural concert theme at Penn?s Landing is the Caribbean. The festival runs from 2 - 8:00 pm.?Grasso?s?Magic?Theatre?puts on their children?s Matinee at 3 pm?which features New York City magician Adam?Cardone. Tickets are $10 for children and $20 for adults.?
Monday, August 23rd:
Enjoy the last days of summer at the Morris Arboretum?s Outdoor Summer Fun series. Sway in the hammock 50 feet in the air, be a pirate in the grotto, and then watch the trains chug along the railways. Tickets vary in price while children under 3 are free. Or Flap Your Wings Like a Bird at the Schuylkill Center. This program for children between 3 and 5 learn to sing like birds and imagine what it?s like to see the world through very tiny eyes.?
Tuesday, August 24th:?Stomp, clap, and sing your way through a rockin? good time when Makin? Music comes the Colonial Theatre?at 10:30 am. This interactive music enrichment program designed for young children. Tickets are $7-8. Or, join Pottery Barn for their Tuesday morning book club. As a first-timer, children receive a passport to travel the world through their imagination! After each session, attendees receive a special gift. Book club begins at 11:00 am.?
